Gramo Café

Mexico City, Mexico

Calle Lamartine 345
Mocha

Gramo Café in Polanco is a thoughtfully executed coffee stop that clearly prioritizes quality, even in a challenging environment. I ordered a mocha, and it was genuinely impressive—well balanced, properly crafted, and far from overly sweet. The espresso came through clean and structured, complemented by well-textured milk that added richness without overwhelming the drink. It’s clear the baristas know what they’re doing. What stood out most to me was their ability to dial in the espresso despite the café being surrounded by strong fragrances from the retail space. Maintaining clarity and balance in coffee under those conditions is not easy, and Gramo Café handles it remarkably well. The mocha retained its nuance, with the chocolate integrating smoothly rather than masking the espresso, which speaks to both good ingredients and solid technique. The café itself is stylish and modern, fitting well within Polanco’s aesthetic. However, the seating area is quite small, and its location directly on a busy, loud road does impact the overall experience. While it’s perfectly fine for a quick coffee stop or takeaway, lingering for an extended sit-down isn’t as comfortable as it could be. Improved sound buffering or expanded seating would significantly elevate the space. That said, the quality of the coffee makes Gramo Café worth visiting. If you’re in the area and care about well-executed espresso drinks—especially milk-based ones—it’s an excellent choice. With just a few improvements to the seating and noise levels, this café could easily become a standout destination rather than just a great grab-and-go spot.
